ART CRUISE is a series of small‑format painting experiences that bring you inside art history. In each class you will paint a different avant-garde artist. So-called modern masters, such as Picasso, Monet, Kahlo, and others come to life by your own hand.

We continue the series with Frida Kahlo, the inimitable portraitist and revolutionary. Kahlo’s work championed self-design and the power of femininity. Her dreamlike imagery pushed beyond Surrealism from a distinctly Mexican vantage point. Today Kahlo stands as a global icon, widely regarded as one of the most influential artists of the last century, resonating across feminist, queer, working-class, academic and contemporary art discourses.

ART CRUISE sessions are guided in a studio atmosphere by a professional artist, for all skill levels. In this is two session course over two consecutive weeks each artist develops a Kahlo-inspired portrait.
